Trial Morningstar Data and Research Delivery

You can trial Morningstar data and research through two delivery methods: APIs and the Morningstar MCP Server. When you sign up, your trial credentials give you access to both, so you can evaluate how each fits your workflow.

There are two ways to start trialling Morningstar data and research:

  • A self-service trial gives you immediate access to a sample of Morningstar data and research for 30 days, without needing to contact us.
  • A full trial is arranged with our sales team and is set up for the specific data, research, and services you want to evaluate.

Start a Self-Service Trial

To start a self-service trial, create an account on this portal and then create an application. The application generates the credentials you use to authenticate your requests. Trial-eligible APIs and the Morningstar MCP Server are added to it automatically.

For step-by-step instructions, see the Quick Start guide.

Delivery Methods Included in Your Trial

  • APIs Retrieve Morningstar data and research programmatically using your application credentials.
  • Morningstar MCP Server Connect Morningstar data and research to your AI assistants and agents through the Model Context Protocol, using the same trial credentials.

Trial Limits

Self-service trials are designed for evaluating Morningstar data and research, so they have the following limits. These limits apply to your account as a whole, across both delivery methods.

  • Duration A trial lasts 30 days from account creation. When the trial ends, the account is deleted.
  • Data and research You can retrieve only the data packages, research, and investments included in the trial universes listed on this page.
  • Delivery methods Only trial-eligible APIs and the Morningstar MCP Server are available.
  • Applications You can create one application per account.
  • Usage Your account can make up to 10 requests per second and 500 requests per day. Requests made through the APIs and the MCP Server both count toward these limits.
