Investment List API
Build the Investment List API into your digital experience for quick investment and earnings summaries.
About
Populating a grid, watchlist, or comparison table means pulling the same handful of attributes across many investments at once. The API serves product owners and platform teams building adviser and investor-facing grids, and research and product teams populating comparison and screening views, by returning a single flat dataset across funds, ETFs, and equities in one request — no need to stitch together per-investment lookups.
Common Use Cases
- Populate a watchlist or grid Retrieve a consistent set of data points across a saved list of investments to render a sortable, filterable grid.
- Build comparison tables Line up funds, ETFs, and equities side by side on the same data points for like-for-like comparison views.
- Power investor and adviser dashboards Pull key reference, allocation, and exposure data points for the investments on a dashboard in a single synchronous call.
- Screen a shortlist for review Combine identifier lookup with targeted data points to turn a shortlist of candidate investments into a ready-to-review table.
Capabilities
- Broad, cross-asset data point coverage More than 4,990 data points across 147 categories, spanning funds, ETFs, and equities, including reference data, asset allocation, regional and sector exposure, market capitalization, fees, and company fundamentals.
- Flexible investment identification Look up investments by performance ID, ISIN, CUSIP, fund code, security ID, Morningstar ID, or trading symbol, with optional exchange country, domicile, and base currency to disambiguate.
- Multi-investment requests Submit up to 100 investments in a single request and receive all matched results together.
- Controlled, flat responses Select up to 50 data points per request to control payload size, returned as a single flat, tabular dataset optimized for grids and list views.
- Server-side sorting Sort results by up to two data point fields, each ascending or descending, instead of sorting client side.
- Data point discovery A dedicated endpoint returns the supported data points and their metadata, including operators and language or currency dependencies, so applications can build data point pickers programmatically.
Limits
- 100 investments per request Larger lists must be split into batches of 100 and the results merged.
- 50 data points per request Wider views need multiple requests, joined on investment identifier.
- Two sort fields maximum Sorting supports a primary and a secondary field; additional ordering must be applied client side. If no sort is provided, results default to ascending order by performance ID.
- Unmatched identifiers Identifiers that can't be resolved are surfaced in the response metadata rather than failing the whole request, so applications can handle partial matches gracefully.
- Token lifetime Access tokens last 60 minutes, so long-running jobs must refresh tokens and retry requests that return
401 Unauthorized.
