Investment Details Feed API

Get detailed profile data for up to 250 investments in a single request, drawing on Morningstar's fundamental, reference, and historical data..

Views

A view is a predefined set of data points with a unique identifier that you use to specify the data the API returns. Each request names one or more views, and the API returns the data points in those views for your investments.

A request can include from 1 to 3 views. Some views must be submitted alone. See Limits.

View Types

View TypeDescription
packageRepresents a standard Morningstar data package.
datasetRepresents a subset of data points in a standard package.
ddaDatasetA set of data points defined by a client in Direct Data Access. Can contain data points from different standard packages.

View IDs

A viewId identifies a view. Standard view IDs are the names of packages, written in lowercase with hyphens. A view that was defined for your organization uses the ID that was issued to you.

You don't have to remember view IDs. The API lists the views you can request, and the data points in each one. See Get View IDs.

Each view in a request can also have a viewType. The default is package. See API Inputs.

View Parameters

Some data packages require additional parameters to be passed in the request. If the view you are requesting contains data from such a package, you will need to pass those parameters in the request. If you send a parameter for a view that it doesn't apply to, it is ignored.

See the Package-Specific Guides section for more information.

Limits

Most requests can include up to 3 views. Exceptions are package-specific. See the Package-Specific Guides section for more information.
